5K Run/Walk - 8:00am

 

The Saturday Slip N Slide 5K Run/Walk is held each year in conjunction with the Saturday Slip N Slide event at Rosewood Park in Jenison.  The Run raises money to support Kids Hope USA, helping at-risk children right here in our neighborhoods.  From the dedicated runner to the morning walker, this run is for you.  The Saturday Slip N Slide 5K Run will take you past Rosewood Park where you’ll see preparations underway for the Saturday Slip N Slide event later that day, and through the surrounding neighborhoods.  Wagons and strollers are welcome, but we ask that you leave your pets at home. Each pre-registered participant will receive a race shirt (adult male/female sizes will be dry-fit; youth sizes will be a poly/cotton blend).

 

Pre-registration cost is $30 before June 1st; late registration (after June 1st) and same day registration is $35. There is also a flat student rate for Elementary - High School student for $25.

 

Location & Parking Information:  The race will begin on Rosewood near the top of the slides/park entrance. This is located on the Northwest corner of Rosewood Park.  Parking for the 5K and the Kids Fun Run will be in the neighboring streets only.  Rosewood Park parking lot will be closed for event preparation.

Severe Weather Policy: Weather forecasts are tracked before the race for heavy rain, thunder and lightning, high winds, etc. If there is a possibility of threatening weather, information will be posted on the Facebook page to alert participants of possible course changes.  On race day, if the weather is severe or forecasted to become severe during the duration of the event, the race start time can change, the race can be postponed or the event can be cancelled. No Refunds will be given if the event is cancelled due to severe weather.
